I enjoy shooting daisies because they’re common and very photogenic. They’re simply beautiful on their own, with their clean lines and dramatic white and yellow color scheme. In clusters they make boisterous compositions that seem to draw us into memories of childhood, and make us long for summer.
Whether you photograph them in colour, or in black and white, they’re whimsical and nostalgic, perhaps more so than any other flower. Most of us can recall their acrid scent, and feel the warm sun just looking an image of a daisy.
So here’s my latest daisy study…meant to inspire a little sense of timelessness.
