Worked on manual exposure tonight. I’m not 100% happy with this shot, too dark, not enough sharp contrast, and the white balance is off. It’s not bad considering I’m working with mixed lighting in my “office” – hence the white balance issue. It’s also hard to determine how dark a photo truly is, because your browser and your photo viewing software, and your monitor, all come into play. How does one really gauge that?
I think the hardest part of food photograph is not eating the subject before you get the shot you want. This composition was in constant peril. Popcorn is one of my favourite foods after all.
