Yesterday was Day One of my Basic Digital Photography course. The desks reminded me of elementary school…odd for a college, and terribly uncomfortable. Thank goodness we’ll be spending a lot of time in the studios!! The Langara campus is much older than the Douglas campus I was at, so it’ll take some getting used to; Douglas is such a nice environment.
Didn’t get to take our cameras out last night, it was just an orientation. The assignments are simple – but effective for basic – and involves about 10 techniques and using completely manual settings and focus. I’m already getting some ideas. Spent some time re-acquainting myself with my camera’s manual controls today, so I’ll be ready for the first workshop next week in the studio. Wooohoooo! I already feel like this course is going be a huge step forward – basic or not.
