When I look at hands I often make mental lists of what those hands might be capable of. For example, my hands know how to bandage a child’s scrapes or remove a splinter; they can write a poem or an essay, or a wild sci-fi story. My hands can knit, bake, and do delicate embroidery. They also make eyewear and press the shutter on a camera.
Maybe I should take more hand photos, capturing their essence would certainly be a challenge.
